A step in time with The Teletubbies

I don’t associate The Teletubbies with my toddler like many parents do. Having aired some twenty years ago when I was six years old, I think of my childhood when I think of the Teletubbies. Not his.

They caused quite a stir in the 90’s amongst both adults and children. I still remember having a Teletubbies lunch box in primary school. They were everywhere!

Now they’re are back with a new series and I’m loving introducing it to Taylor.

The cute little baby face that once adorned the sun in tubbyland has a new face, and the biggest change of of all has to be the tiddlytubbies.

Baby Teletubbies! They’re cute and add a nice element to the show but the majority of it hasn’t changed. They still feature a ‘real life’ video in each episode focussing in on one the belly telly’s. And of course, they play it twice, when the Teletubbies chant ‘Again, again!’

Taylor loves watching the video clips and will always stop whatever he is doing. Usually to say ‘hi’ to the children on the televsion.

My favourite part has to be when they wave goodbye at the end. Not because it’s over. But because I love watching Taylor saying Bye to the Telletubbies as he waves at the television and interacts.

It’s unusual for Taylor to sit still for a prolonged period of time but throughout the small amount of television we let him watch he’s happy to sit still and watch The Teletubbies, this often see’s him in fits of giggles too.

Overall we’re loving the Teletubbies come back and it’s great to see a revival that’s not taken it too far from it’s original roots.
