Pacif-i Thermometer pacifier for smartphones

One of the many things I’ve learnt in my first year as a parent is that their is nothing more worrying than a poorly child. Whether it be a common cold or a more severe illness. You will worry.

Whenever Taylor has a fever I can’t sleep, I worry he might overheat or become worse in the night. It’s laughable in our house when I utter the words “I’ll check his temperature one last time, then come to bed”. You can guarantee 10 minutes later I’ll be saying the same thing as I sneak back into his room, hoping not to wake him, and checking his temperature again.

We have tried multiple thermometers. One you insert into the ear, one you place in the mouth and the increasingly popular contactless thermometers.

Each have their own pros and cons. But one thing they all have in common is that you actually have to enter your child’s room to use them. Tripping over soft toys or stubbing your toe on a xylophone whilst waking them up in the process.

That was until this nifty little gadget landed on our doorstep! The Pacif-i Thermometer works with your smartphone. Connecting via bluetooth to send and track your childs temperature to the pacif-i app. You can also submit times you’ve given medication and create profiles for multiple children via the app. We downloaded the app from the Apple store easily taking just minutes to tether it to the pacifier. You can also use it with Android devices.

Of course if your little one won’t entertain using a dummy then this isn’t going to work for you. For us, its a dream. Taylor takes a dummy to bed and for some of the night it will stay in his mouth. Having the ability to check his temperature from my bed using my phone is amazing. No more sneaking into his room ‘one last time’, prodding thermometers in his ears and waking him up!

Lucky for us, the pacif-i is a similar shape and style to the brand of dummies we use so he took it without realising it was different. The device collaborates it’self to your child based on your childs sucking pattern when they use it to help gain an accurate reading each time.

The only thing I have noticed is it hangs out of the side of his mouth from time to time. He does find it to be a little on the heavy side in comparison to your generic dummy. This is to be expected as it is housing some clever tech inside.

Pacif-I also has a nifty finding feature. If you have a toddler who uses a dummy you’ll likely know how easily they go missing. The Pacif-i is one you won’t want to lose. Retailing at £39 with free UK delivery it also has a find feature which allows you to find the location via the smart phone app.

Overall though I think it’s a fantastic product to have. Having the ability to take his temperature from another room via my phone is fantastic. It’s simple to use and effective in giving an accurate temperature. It’s without a doubt value for money if you’re up and down as much as I am when taking temperatures.

You can purchase th Pacif-i Thermometer  for £39 at the following link with free UK delivery.  https://www.pacif-i.io/shop/ – We were sent the product in exchange for an honest review all opinions are my own.

wow this looks so useful. It can be so hard to take a babies temperature when they’re all wriggly! though neither of mine took a dummy… 🙁

This is a wonderful invention! We have a no contact thermometer so I point and we’re done but this would be great for people using dummies! H x

  • Emma Amoscato

Whata brilliant idea! My daughter doesn’t use a dummy otherwise I would definitely get this.

Wow, modern technology amazes me! I had no idea this kind of thing existed. What a reassuring product for parents (although none of mine used dummies, but still I can see how fab this would be for worried parents) x

As ever, beautiful photos! I’m so glad you love the Pacif-i (for transparency in case anyone reads my comment, Pacif-i is my client) and I’m so glad Taylor got on so well with it. You’re right, if a baby doesn’t take a dummy its probably worth thinking carefully before you invest, but if they do then its one of those products you’re going to be glad to have! Thanks for the fab review xxx

Love those gorgeous pics! It’s such a clever device isn’t it?! Toby very rarely gets a fever but thermometers can be such a pain when it does happen and this is actually cheaper than many thermometers xx

My favourite feature is the fact you can be in another room. Brilliant product and will keep it in mind if and when we need to upgrade our thermometer 🙂

What a cool product! Some people come up with the most fantastic things don’t they. I love your photos too!

  • What a seriously cool piece of parenting kit!!! What a brilliant idea too. When little miss is poorly all she wants is her dummy xXx
