Milestone: 8 months and moving out!

Dear Taylor,

It’s now the 1st of September you are eight months old. As I write this, I’m clutching onto the baby monitor like my life depends on it as tonight is your first night in your own bedroom.

I usually write these updates whilst you sleep next to me in your Snüzpod. Tonight is the first night in the eight months that I won’t be going to sleep holding onto your tiny hand, and it’s a lot harder than I imagined it would be. You’re only a few meters away in your bedroom but it feels like miles.

Daddy and I have put this off for as long as we could. Neither of us have been looking forward to it. If it wasn’t for the fact that you can now hold onto the sides of your Snüzpod to stand up and rock on it like a boat you’d still be there.

This month you –

☆ Have FOUR teeth, the top right tooth is on it’s way down and the left has just cut. It’s all happening fast!
☆ Are still wearing your 3-6 month clothes
☆ Have started to really enjoy different foods and are eating a lot more.
☆ Moved into your own bedroom… I’m clearly still coming to terms with this one!
☆ Visited your cousins in Barford.
☆ Said ‘Mama’ albeit whilst crying after waking up in your own room for the first time, we’re not going to put it down as your first word until we hear a repeat. It may have been a fluke!
☆ Spent an evening with Granddad babysitting, he loves spending time with you.

Overall August has been a big month for us all! If last months’ commando crawling wasn’t enough, this weekend you decided to casually get onto your knees and show us how it’s really done. You’ve been moving non-stop ever since, almost as though somebody hit the ‘crawl’ switch and away you went. You look adorable on your knees sticking your little bottom up in the air as you go.

Your personality is really starting to emerge and you’re becoming more independent every day. From the smile upon your face the moment Daddy comes home to the cute way you hold your ears when you’re sleepy. It’s truly amazing to watch. We’re so proud of you and cannot wait to see what the next month has in store for us.

Oh my gosh, Taylor looks like such an adorable little baby! Such a beautiful smile. That first picture is just precious, I love the bib too 🙂

Thanks Fi, he’s brilliant. No idea how I made a cutie like him! Xx

  • Nicola Naessens

Oh he is just adorable 🙂 It’s a big step moving them into their own room, harder for Mama of course, he’ll love it though, you have it beautiful for him.

    • leeleeloves

Thank you Nicola, I think he’s starting to get used to it although still waking a few times confused. I’m still glued to the monitor 😛 Xx

  • Rachel Cooper

He is gorgeous! My youngest has just turned 9 months and there is just no stopping him whatsoever. I remember the feeling with my eldest of moving them into their own room. We co sleep this time

    • leeleeloves

We had a Snüzpod bedside crib for co sleeping so I’m used to him practically being in my bed. In fact the last 2 months since he’s been moving around he would bring himself over into my bed anyway. I really miss having him with me! Still stuck watching my monitor all night! Xx

  • I can totally empathise with you. I really struggled with moving all my babies into their own rooms and put it off for as long as I could. All these milestones are tough on us mums 😉

    • leeleeloves

It’s horrible, I think the worst will be in January when I go back to work full time and he’s in nursery. God I feel mean just thinking about it. Thankfully he seems to be getting used to his room although still waking up a few times a night, which isn’t fun considering he was sleeping through in my room! Xx

  • Hayley McLean

Oh look at how adorable he is!!!! Swoon!!! He sounds like hes doing wonderful! I so remember that feeling of the first night in their own room, I hope you handled it ok…it is surprisingly hard on us mums! (and dads!) xx

  • Zoë Forde

Oh bless, this is such a cute post. Best of luck with the new stage of growing up Taylor and Lee! x

  • It’s so nice having babies who achieve so much in a short space of time. Really makes you think how amazing they really are

  • Life With Munchers

Aw what gorgeous photos and great memories to look back on too. Your house looks stunning!

  • Oh my days, isn’t he just the cutest! I love this idea, keeping little letters for when he’s older! If I ever have kiddes, I’ll have to remember to do this! Hope he is well! 🙂 x

  • Jo Smith

I love this. And what’s cuter is the “you might also like” plugin because you can see earlier posts in this series and see just how much Taylor has changed! X

  • Tara Ryan

First I must say how adorable is Taylor! I am not a mother and rarely get “broody” but his adorable grin makes me “broody”. I love the way you are recording things such as how he slept and his teeth growing. It is such a lovely thing to look back on in time to come. I hope Taylor is enjoying his new room 🙂

  • awwww how adorable is he, so cute. Loving his batman suit in his crib lol absolutely adorable.

  • he is just adorable – hope you all coped xxx

  • Kerry Louise

I can’t believe how fast he’s growing Lisa!! He’s so cute!!! Hope Taylor is getting along okay in his own room? I miss our snuzpod so much!! I’ve given to a friend though who can make use out of it otherwise it will just be sat in our attic for years unused. xx
