Dear Taylor,
It’s now the 1st of September you are eight months old. As I write this, I’m clutching onto the baby monitor like my life depends on it as tonight is your first night in your own bedroom.
I usually write these updates whilst you sleep next to me in your Snüzpod. Tonight is the first night in the eight months that I won’t be going to sleep holding onto your tiny hand, and it’s a lot harder than I imagined it would be. You’re only a few meters away in your bedroom but it feels like miles.
Daddy and I have put this off for as long as we could. Neither of us have been looking forward to it. If it wasn’t for the fact that you can now hold onto the sides of your Snüzpod to stand up and rock on it like a boat you’d still be there.
This month you –
☆ Have FOUR teeth, the top right tooth is on it’s way down and the left has just cut. It’s all happening fast!
☆ Are still wearing your 3-6 month clothes
☆ Have started to really enjoy different foods and are eating a lot more.
☆ Moved into your own bedroom… I’m clearly still coming to terms with this one!
☆ Visited your cousins in Barford.
☆ Said ‘Mama’ albeit whilst crying after waking up in your own room for the first time, we’re not going to put it down as your first word until we hear a repeat. It may have been a fluke!
☆ Spent an evening with Granddad babysitting, he loves spending time with you.
Overall August has been a big month for us all! If last months’ commando crawling wasn’t enough, this weekend you decided to casually get onto your knees and show us how it’s really done. You’ve been moving non-stop ever since, almost as though somebody hit the ‘crawl’ switch and away you went. You look adorable on your knees sticking your little bottom up in the air as you go.
Your personality is really starting to emerge and you’re becoming more independent every day. From the smile upon your face the moment Daddy comes home to the cute way you hold your ears when you’re sleepy. It’s truly amazing to watch. We’re so proud of you and cannot wait to see what the next month has in store for us.
